A Potawatomi (as well spelled Pottawatomie or even Pottawatomi) come an American Indian people of the upper Mississippi River region.

A Potawatomi were section of an extended term alliance sustaining a Ojibwe and Ottawa, called a Council of Three Fires and which fought the Iroquois Confederacy and the Sioux. In a Council of 3 Fires, Potawatomi were considered the "youngest Brother" & a "Keeper of the Fire".
